Book imprint Scripta (managing editor mag. Boštjan Resinovič) publishes cheaper compulsory study literature and professional literature which may be used for study purposes. This is the only imprint of the kind not discriminating between individual fields of science, for the Organisation of the University in Ljubljana (ŠOU in Ljubljana) established it to improve the study conditions of all students. The beginnings of this imprint go back to 1995 when ŠOU in Ljubljana began to implement the project Scripta which gradually became an independent book imprint within the Student Publishing House. Nowadays its scope is wide: it publishes original and translated theoretic texts, instructions for exercises and problems with solutions, i.e. any expert literature often interesting to a broader public (not only to students and experts). So far, over 40 books from different fields have been published. Their common characteristic is a reasonable price; the format of most books is A4 paperback. However, texts transcending the narrow scope of expert and study literature and thus being interesting to a broader public, are published in the 17x24 cm format, mostly in hardback. The non-profit nature of the Scripta imprint with the financial support of SOU in Ljubljana allows for publishing books in low editions which other publishers refuse. Besides the standard way of management there is co-production with other publishers for more expensive projects, which reduces the costs when an edition cannot afford it.
